Lawn ornament or Eastern Screech Owl?
you decide!
At the moment we have 13 sick, injured, or orphaned screech owls in our hospital. We love that these youngsters are acting like wild owls as they grow and prepare for their eventual release back to the wild. Fledgling screech owls start ‘branching’ – hopping out of the nest to nearby branches or the ground then they climb back into their nests before they actually learn to fly.

Photo credit to our Volunteer Sharon P., great capture!

The many faces of screech owls. Such expressive faces, all of which hate us (yay!). Love the “vampire cloak” one best.
