Keeping a steady flow of funds for feeding PRWC wildlife can feel like bending over backward at times.

Peace River Wildlife Center (PRWC) is a 501(c)(3) non-profit wildlife rehabilitation and education center tucked neatly into the mangroves overlooking Charlotte Harbor at Ponce de Leon Park in Punta Gorda Isles, Florida. This means we rely heavily on our local and broader community to support our mission to rescue and rehabilitate native Florida wildlife.

All of Peace River Wildlife Center’s expenses are met through your donations, our recycling program, gift shop sales, small grants, and fundraisers. PRWC’s mission is carried out primarily by volunteers but is funded by the community,  people like you. PRWC does not receive any federal government support, so rest assured we are doing what we do because you care.

We always accept direct donations of funds or supplies, but there are also many other ways you can contribute. For example, in April 2021 we are having our Feedback for Good campaign where all you need to do is share your opinion of brands you use, and that generates funds for feeding PRWC wildlife – at no cost to you!

The costs involved in maintaining educational displays, feeding over 120 permanent residents and more than 2,500 patients annually is over $80,000 per year – these numbers have increased every year since the centers founding.

As always, PRWC does not charge admission fees meaning everyone in our community has the opportunity to visit the animals. Your donations and gift store purchases go directly to the care of our wildlife patients and residents, so we do greatly appreciate all donations and purchases whether done in person or from afar.

We continue to fulfill our mission because you support us supporting wildlife.
