Peace River Wildlife Center

One of my favorite parts of every week is stopping by our new Education Center to see the progress. It's incredible to watch a vision that so many of us have worked toward for years finally taking shape. This month brought several exciting milestones, the walls are now up inside our Maintenance and Care Building, the roof is beginning to go on the Education Building, and work continues on the animal habitats that will one day be home to our resident animals who will inspire future generations.

While our eyes are on the future, our team at the Wildlife Rehabilitation Hospital is focused on the very busy work of today. Baby season is starting to wind down, but this season we've cared for a record number of orphaned opossums. In fact, our overall wildlife intakes are already ahead of where they were at this time last year. Every patient that comes through our doors represents a life that depends on the dedication of our staff, volunteers, and supporters.

As I watch construction crews build new walls and our rehabilitation team nurture patients back to health, I'm inspired by how these efforts are part of the same mission. We are creating a place that will not only care for wildlife today but will inspire thousands of people to protect wildlife for years to come.
