Some of my favorite patients at Peace River Wildlife Center come with a shell.
I have a particular appreciation for gopher tortoises and turtles, and I have seen how much skill, patience, and consistent care their recovery can require. Each patient arrives with different needs, but the goal is always to provide the best possible care and return the animal to the wild whenever possible.
As a member of PRWC’s Board of Directors and a volunteer at the Rehab Hospital, I have the opportunity to work alongside the rehabilitation team and offer my veterinary experience and guidance when needed.
I have also seen firsthand the dedication of the staff and volunteers who care for these animals every day. They manage each patient’s treatment, prepare specialized diets, maintain recovery spaces, monitor progress, and provide the consistent care needed throughout rehabilitation.
Join me in supporting the work that makes these recoveries possible. Your gift helps provide medical supplies, medications, nutritious diets, safe recovery spaces, and the many essential resources needed to care for injured native wildlife.
Every donation helps PRWC remain ready for the next patient and gives recoverable wildlife another opportunity to return to its natural habitat.
