Owls have always fascinated me. I enjoy watching them and hearing their calls at night. They are a wonderful reminder of the remarkable native wildlife that surrounds us here in Florida.
As development changes Florida’s natural landscape, wildlife is increasingly displaced and exposed to dangers such as vehicle strikes and human interference. When an injured or orphaned animal needs help, the staff and volunteers at Peace River Wildlife Center provide the treatment, rehabilitation, and time it needs to recover.
Whenever possible, the goal is to return each patient to its natural habitat.
Animals that cannot safely be released may receive lifelong care as permanent residents at PRWC’s Education Center.
PRWC also helps people better understand and appreciate native wildlife. Visitors can meet the permanent residents at the Education Center, learn why they remain in care, and speak with volunteers about their species. PRWC’s outreach ambassadors also help bring wildlife education into the community.
Please join me in supporting this important work. A gift of $25 or more helps provide wildlife rehabilitation, community education, and lifelong care for permanent residents.
Together, we can give injured wildlife the opportunity to recover and return to the wild.
