Peace River Wildlife Center is a place where injured and orphaned wildlife receive the care they need. Some patients recover and return to the wild. Others, because of the severity of their injuries, remain at PRWC and receive lifelong care.
“What makes PRWC so important is that it gives injured wildlife a chance to return to the wild while providing a safe home for those that cannot be released.”
The staff members who care for these animals are some of the most dedicated people I have ever met. Every day, they provide the food, habitats, medical attention, and specialized care each animal requires.
I especially love Athena the Barn Owl and PRWC’s Bald Eagles. Seeing these animals up close also reminds me how important education is to PRWC’s mission. They give visitors an opportunity to learn about native Florida wildlife, the challenges these animals face, and why protecting them matters.
The new Education Center will provide a larger, more resilient home for PRWC’s permanent residents and create new opportunities for our community to connect with and learn about Florida wildlife.
I hope you will support PRWC’s Capital Campaign and visit the new Education Center when it opens. Together, we can help build a future for wildlife and for the generations who will learn from it.
