Will you donate photos for our 2023 calendar?

The Peace River Wildlife Center is a 501(c)3 nonprofit wildlife rehabilitation and education center in Punta Gorda, Florida. Its mission is to rescue and rehabilitate native wildlife and educate the public. PRWC creates calendars to help educate the public about Florida’s native wildlife and the work of the Center. Check out past calendars at https://www.greensyncinc.org/PRWCcalendars
Important things to remember:

• Because PRWC is creating this calendar, the calendar will only feature photographs of wildlife native to Florida treated at the Center. Many of the patients are birds, but they also treat many other animals, including mammals, snakes, turtles and gopher tortoises, and more! The calendar includes the following wildlife observances (so photos of these animals are appreciated):

Squirrel Appreciation Day
National Wildlife Day
Gopher Tortoise Day
National Opossum Day
Raccoon Appreciation Day

January calendar Squirrel
Feb 2022 Sandhill Crane
July Stilt

• Any photograph of native wildlife taken at any time anywhere by anyone may be submitted. The calendar will showcase the diversity of wildlife treated at the Center. PRWC staff will select the photographs to be incorporated into the calendar.

• A large image will be featured above each month and maybe elsewhere. These images are nearly 12” wide x 9” high. The resolution must be about 300 dpi at that size. Please do not adjust the resolution of your images, as no one will be happy with how they look in the printed calendar. Please do not alter the photograph except for cropping or adjusting the exposure.

• Several smaller images are placed throughout the calendar.

• We anticipate 3,000 calendars will be printed and distributed free, probably in November. We’ll send an email message to everyone who submitted photographs once the calendar is delivered by the printer. Last year the calendar(s) could be picked up at the Peace River Wildlife Center from the office in the Ponce de Leon location in Punta Gorda daily between 11 a.m. and 4 p.m. Calendars are only mailed to those who make a donation to cover the cost of shipping. Last year postage cost $5.00 for one calendar and $6.00 for three. Donations can be made through the PRWC website (https://prwildlife.org/support-prwc/) or by check. Please note what the donation is for, how many calendars are requested, and where they should be mailed. The online form submitted with your photographs provides more guidance.

• The photographer of each image will be acknowledged by name. Additional information – not to exceed 40 characters – may be included for the 12 featured photographs.

By August 31, if you are willing to donate your photograph(s), please complete the short release form available online (the direct link is https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/PRWC2023calendar).
